Game Recap

Hays falls to Westlake in a very hard fought, competitive, district 25-6A matchup at Shelton Stadium.
The Rebels forced a couple of key turnovers on the evening that really helped the cause. Kodie Kennedy recovered a muffed punt in the second quarter which led to a 42 yard field goal by Joe Banuelos and Isaiah Jacobs had an interception to start the second half and halt a Westlake drive. Zane Kuykendall had 12 tackles on the evening to lead the team, and Domninic Johnson and Sam Guzman each tallied 9.
Xavier Martinez threw three touchdowns on the night, with Bayler Jordan, Thai Mayberry, and Sam Scott each catching one. Cade Powell was the leading rusher for the Rebs with 12 carries, and Bayler Jordan led the team with four receptions.
The Rebels will take on cross-town rival Lehman this week.
